A unique
record of the armorial stall plates of Scotland's most eminent Order
by Charles J Burnett, the Ross Herald, and Leslie Hodgson. Elegantly
bound in thistle green cloth with the Badge and Collar of the Order
stamped on the cover and the slip case, this 224 page volume depicts
all the magnificent enamelled stall plates erected in the Thistle Chapel
since its dedication in 1911. Biographical notes accompany each full
page colour plate from that of the 7th Duke or Atholl, knighted 1867,
to HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, appointed a Lady of the Thistle
in 2000.
The book was dedicated to Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, The Queen
Mother, who was a member of the Order for 65 years. A fitting tribute
to her in what was her centenary year (2001).
